Best Alternative Easter Eggs for 2019

standard April 8, 2019 Leave a response
Not a chocolate person? No worries. We've got a roundup of the best alternative Easter eggs for 2019.

With Easter coming up, most households simply cannot move for chocolate. Eggs of all shapes and sizes fill the supermarket shelves and we’re almost force-fed sugar and cocoa. Tiresome huh? No, I know, not really. Believe it or not there are people who do not like (or cannot eat) chocolate – and they need to celebrate Easter too! Don’t worry, you can still plan the best Easter for those who aren’t down for a chocolate egg. We’ve scoured the internet for the best alternative Easter eggs that you can get this year.

We’ve tried to vary this list as much as we can to make sure that one of these alternative Easter eggs will be perfect for your intended recipient, regardless of their age. It turns out, there’s not that many decent quality alternative Easter eggs out there… gap in the market maybe? Get your thinking caps on!

Lush Bunny Fun Egg Bath Bomb

If there is a holiday or celebration, you can bet your bottom dollar that Lush will make a bath bomb to celebrate it. Easter is no exception and they’ve got quite a lot on offer this year. We’ve already written our Lamb Lush Bath Bomb Review but it will not have escaped my eagle-eyed readers that the lamb is in fact, not an egg. There are a couple of eggs on offer however, but we’ve picked the Lush Bunny Fun Egg. Not only do the two halves serve as a pretty bath bomb, the pretty bunny in the middle is also a soft bubble bar! You can mould it into whatever shape you want before you eventually surrender it to the running water for added entertainment value. Nice, huh? No seriously, it’s cute – perfect for anyone who needs to relax this Easter!

Butler’s Farmhouse Cheeses CHEESTER Egg

If Wallace and Gromit did an Easter special, this is what they’d be getting into trouble over. Personally, I don’t like cheese enough to have this much of it in my house at one time. Husband however? All over it – especially the blue cheese variety of this thing. Now to be honest, I personally thing this thing is a rip off – it’s over £15 (at the time of writing) and you only get half an egg. It’s a cute novelty for someone who either really loves cheese, or is desperate for an alternative Easter egg, but don’t expect value for money.

Hatchimals of All Shapes and Sizes

So these things are still popular huh? Yeah, apparently the are. They make a perfect alternative Easter egg for your little ones, who will no doubt have more than enough chocolate at this time of year. The beauty of this range is that the eggs you can get vary so much in size and price, that you should be able to find one regardless of your budget. They’re all super fun and cute AF. They also have that added bonus of a “surprise egg” that kids seem to go mental for these days. All in all, an excellent choice for a different kind of egg this Easter.

L’Occitane Cherry Blossom Beauty Easter Egg

This is so cute, it’s sure to go down well as an alternative Easter egg for anyone who is into beautiful, self-care or just pretty girly things. L’Occitane is quite pricey but it’s nice stuff – this egg contains a shower gel, body lotion and hand cream in this super cute egg tin. This is one egg that would make a truly beautiful gift – and much less calories than a chocolate counterpart!

Jurassic World Hatch and Play Toy

It’s hard to find decent alternative Easter eggs for boys; there are a lot of dinosaur egg toys out there, but the contents inside all look a little naff. These ones however are officially licensed Jurassic World merchandise with proper toys inside them. The dinosaurs are cute and varied, with the egg being an integral part to the toy itself and not just a wasteful vessel. There are a few on Amazon for you to choose from for your lucky recipient, but we’ve linked the one we think is the coolest.

Bird Food Easter Egg

Lastly, the most adorable egg on our list – made of bird food! I’m not sure if it’s a bit twisted, having birds eat an “egg” but whatever. If you have anyone you love who is into the great outdoors, gardens and wildlife, this is a beautiful and thoughtful alternative Easter egg that really feeds into their passion. It’s made up for two different flavoured halves (lucky birds) so should attract a large variety of creatures – it’s a really pretty little thing that would light up the day of pretty much anyone with a garden they love.
